GLG Performance Horses specializes in training and showing reining horses.  Owned and operated by Gabriel L. Garrison and located along the beautiful front range in Longmont, Colorado; GLG Performance Horses prides itself on developing the finest equine athletes.

Born and raised along the front range of Colorado, Gabe is a 1995 graduate of Berthoud High School.  As one of the top baseball players of his class, upon graduation Gabe was offered a baseball scholarship to Wayne State College, Nebraska.  Gabe graduated WSC in 2001 and holds a Bachelor Degree in Physical Education and Health, K-12.

Growing up in a horse family, Gabe has always held a high respect for horses and their abilities.  Between his studies and student teaching, Gabe worked for a cutting horse trainer in Nebraska.  Balancing his teaching commitments and students with his horses was when Gabe realized that combining his love of training horses and his desire to teach would be his life's passion.

After graduating college Gabe returned to his home town and started working for one of the country's top reining horse trainers, Steve Schwartzenberger.  Schwartzenberger Equine is a premier training and breeding facility specializing in world caliber reining horses.

Gabe has worked full time for Schwartzenberger Equine for five years and has had the opportunity to train and show some of the top reining horses.  The skills and experience that Gabe has learned while working for Steve led to an exciting win at the 2005 Summer Slide.  Gabe won the 2005 Summer Slide Limited Open on Isle Be A Treasure.  Gabe is on the rise to quickly becoming one of the reining industries top competitors.

Gabe shares his passion for horses with wife Shannon, four-year old son Garrett and one-year old son Gunnar. If you are a non-pro, youth, or accomplished rider, GLG Performance Horses has the program to fit you and your style.  Gabe and his family would be glad to show you around the facility and explain more about their training and showing program!
